A lovely reader of my blog had sent me a DM on Instagram asking me to do a get to know me tag which illustrates me as a person, beyond the scope of beauty and fashion.  Of course, I couldn't resist the opportunity so here is a 'get to know me' tag which I feel like flooded all blogs and youtube years ago.

1.     What is your name?
      Chandhini

2.     What does your name mean?
My name means moonlight in Sanskrit.

3.     Where are you from?
I am ethnically from India but raised in America and England my whole life.

4.     Where do you live?
England.

5.     What do you do for a living?
I am not working at the moment, I am still a student.  However, I am on the path to becoming an Epidemiologist and starting my own business as a side hustle.

6.     What is your favorite color?
Orange!

7.     What is your star sign?
Taurus, though I don’t believe in horoscopes.

8.     What is your favorite music genre?
This is a hard one.  If I had to choose, it would have to be rap and trap music because I can never get tired of it.

9.     Who is your favorite musician?
Raxstar, Zack Knight, AR Rahman, and Niraj Chag.

10.  Favorite food?
At the moment, I am constantly craving a a Mission Burrito bowl.  If I had to say favorite food of all time, that would be garlic butter naan with palak paneer.  Or Pani puri.  Or Chaat.

11.  Favorite drink?
Coffee is what I drink the most, but for something refreshing I’d have to say Pink Lemonade.

12.  Favorite snack?
I love Snappeas as a savory snack but dark chocolate with sea salt if I have a sweet tooth.

Just visiting my family in the tri-state area.

I’m not very talented as a person (lol, how sad).  But I would have to say dance and choreography.

17.  What is something you wish you were talented at?
I wish I was trained fully in classical Indian dance (Bharatnatyam or Kathak).

19.  Describe yourself in a single sentence?
Child-like.

20.  What is the best compliment you have ever received?
"You have a pure heart/heart of gold and you're beautiful on the outside too".  Though, personally, I don’t truly believe that and feel I have a long way to go in both aspects.

21.  What are some of your bad habits?
I am extremely defensive.  I can’t take criticism as well as one should.  Despite this, I can feel guilty quickly and instantaneously.

22.  What are your favorite things about yourself?
I am one of the most loyal people you will meet.  If I love you, regardless of what your relationship to me is, I will defend you, try and be there for you as much as I can, brag/boast about you, and put you on a throne in my head.  You become my everything.

23.  What is on top of your bucket list?
To swim with the sharks in the Maldives.  Hopefully, when I get enough money and graduate from my Masters, I will be able to!

24.  What are 3 long term goals?
To start my own fashion-based business, do work in impoverish countries to improve vaccination/immunisation, and become an epidemiologist.

25.  What are 3 short term goals?
To graduate from my Masters program with distinction, to get a six pack, and to be a successful fashion stylist.

26.  What are you doing today to help you achieve those goals?
I am officially a certified fashion stylist and am pursuing my masters in Global Health.  I also try to work out at least 5 times a week.

27.  What is your biggest accomplishment?
Speaking in parliament is one of my most memorable moments.

Going to a coffee shop, sharing a dessert (optional, but preferred), phones switched off, and have undivided attention and just talking.

29.  What is something you look for in a partner?
Comfort, intellect (because I lack common sense), humour, loyalty, easy-going, and makes me feel special.

30.  Who is your role model?
My mother, my grandfather, and Deepica Mutyala,

31.  Which of your parents are you more like?
I am probably more like my mother in terms of her softness and kiddish behavior.

My mom.

33.  What is the last book you read?
Small great things by Jodi Picoult (who is my favorite author).

34.  What is your favorite fairytale?
I would have to say, stereotypically, it’s Cinderella.  It goes to show that having a pure heart and killing people with kindness will go a long way.

35.  What is your favorite quote?
‘Sail away from the safe harbour’

36.  Favorite subject in school?
English literature and Spanish.

37.  Subject you were best at?
Probably a close tie between English literature, Biology, French, and Spanish.

38.  Favorite teacher?
My English literature teacher as well as my biology teacher were both very sweet-natured people who made the subject interesting and exciting.

My mom is my best friend of all time.  I go to her for everything no matter what or how crazy the problem is.

40.  Who has left the most impact on your life?

43.  What countries have you visited?
I’ve lived a very travelled, blessed life.  Greece, France, Switzerland, America, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and India.

44.  What countries would you like to visit?
Maldives, Italy, Spain, and all the countries in South America.

45.  Best memory you have?
All of my grandparents, my parents, and myself sat around on the floor playing cards when the power went out in India using just the light of candles.  I feel like wholesomeness is very lost in society.  True happiness comes in simplicity.

46.  Most embarrassing memory?
Too many.

47.  Most memorable relationship?
My relationship with God.

48.  If you could give your younger self any advice what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to read the letter I had written them.  I would say, never let your heart grow cold, stay hard working, and don’t sacrifice your ambitions for anyone.

49.  One thing you know now that you wish you had known as a kid?
Success isn’t just becoming a lawyer, doctor, or engineer.  Success is looking forward to each day and being happy and always giving back to loved ones and those of less fortune than yourself.  Success is not working a day in your life because your career is your dream.  Success is hustling, grinding, and hard work.  Success is temporary pain for a life time of gain.
